The College of Health Systems Management (CHSM) joined the launching of “People-Oriented Regional Health Board” by the National Health Commission Office (NHCO) of Thailand on Monday, June 7, 2017, held at Vayupak Convention Center, Centara Government Complex Hotel, Bangkok. Deputy Prime Minister Admiral Narong Pipatanasai headed the opening ceremonies. He was joined by other chief executives from the Ministry of Public Health, the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (Thai Health), the National Health Security Office (NHSO), and the National Health Commission Office of Thailand (NHCO).
Following the opening ceremonies, the two-day seminar-workshop dubbed as “Gearing up for the implementation of the People – oriented Regional Health Board ” formally kicked off. The major aim of the Regional Health Board is to be a collaborative platform for every sections to work together in order to improve quality of life of people in their regions. The said workshop was administered by CHSM which aimed to finalize and facilitate the secretariat groups of the regional health boards to provide their After Action Review (AAR) for the selection process of the Regional Health Board and what they would do in the next 4 months and in the next budgetary year after the selection of the committee of Regional Health Board for People in 12 health regions and Bangkok Metropolitans Administration (BMA). The workshop was headed by Dr. Col. Taweesak Nopkesorn and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana – acting director of CHSM-NU.
Groups of secretaries from the Ministry of Public Health, the NHSO, the Thai Health and the NHCO formed the secretariat of People – Oriented Regional Health Board in Health Region 1 to 12 and Bangkok Metropolitan area actively participated the workshop. Mrs. Oraphan Sisukwatthana, Deputy Secretary-General of NHCO, formally closed the event on June 8, 2017.
