CHSM International Students Field Study: A day with Aranyik elderly community and Phitsanulok Municipality Health Center

The international master’s students of the College of Health Systems Management of Naresuan University headed by Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana spent a day with the elderly community in Aranyik and participated in the presentation and discussion of the Phitsanulok Health Center on how they manage their Primary Care Unit last August 18, 2017.

The Field study is in part of the CHSM’s master’s program that aims to expose its students to real life experiences on how local communities managed their health systems.

In the elderly community of Aranyik, the community leaders and its members warmly welcomed the CHSM students.

The students didn’t just observe how the community run their health promotion program, but they also participated in various activities that the Aranyik elderly club organized. They particularly enjoyed the different exercises performed by the elderly to keep them fit and healthy even in their old age. The student’s performed the exercises as if they are of the same age as the elderly in Aranyik.

The group then proceeded to Pra-Ong-Kao Primary Care Unit which is under Phitsanulok Municipality Health Care Center.

In Pra-Ong-Kao Primary Care Unit, Ms. Darunee Chaiboon, the head of Phitsanulok Health Center, discussed how they manage their primary care unit and how they run their services to its constituents.

The Students said that it was indeed a great first hand learning experience for them and it is very useful in their field of study.
