Three Master of Science in Health Systems Management (MSc in HSM) students of the College of Health Systems Management (CHSM), Naresuan University (NU) have successfully defended their Thesis Proposals during the Thesis Proposal Defense held on 29 August 2018, at the CHSM Conference room.
The Thesis Proposal Defense is one of the major requirements of the CHSM’s master’s degree program, which is an international program before a student can proceed to collect data for the study. The three students who faced the Examination Committee were Mr. Macarthur Makata from Malawi, Dr. Alipio Gusmao Lopes from Timor Leste and Ms. Angela Cherotich Rotich from Kenya.
The College has invited distinguished academics from NU to compose the Examination Committee that will examine the proposed studies and scrutinize each part of the proposal. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patcharin Sirasoonthorn from the Faculty of Social Sciences chairs the Examination Committee for Mr. Makata and Dr. Lopes while Dr. Taweesak Siripornpibul chairs the committee that examines Ms. Angela’s proposal. Other Academics who were also a part of the Examination committee were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orapin Singhadej, Former Country WHO Representative; Asst. Prof. Sunsanee Mekrungrongwong from the Faculty of Public Health; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, Acting Director of CHSM, and the one who organized the Thesis Proposal Defense.
All three MSc in HSM students who undergo the proposal defense received a nod from the Committee. The three students have expressed their gratitude to the Committee and made an assurance to take heed of the suggestions of the Examiners.
