The College of Health Systems Management (CHSM), Naresuan University (NU) coordinated to convene the DHS StartUP project management, academic consultants, and team leaders of the different DHS management teams for the 3rd executive meeting on 19 December 2018, in room 204, Akathosarot Bldg., Naresuan University.
The DHS StartUP project manager, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, Director, ASEAN Institute of Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University and former Acting Director of the College of Health Systems Management presided and chaired the said executive meeting.
CHSM has invited Asst. Prof. Dr. Vinai Leesmidt, Deputy Manager of the DHS StartUP project; Dr. Suthee Hanthrakul, Deputy Mayor of Phitsanulok Municipality, to share their thoughts and expertise in the field of health systems management to help assess the progress and state of the DHS management prototypes and provide recommendation on how to bring forward this management prototypes to be replicated in other districts.
Also present during the said meeting were Academics from NU’s Faculty of Nursing, Faculty members of Boromarajonani College of Nursing, and DHS management team leaders involved in the DHS StatrtUP project.
During the meeting, DHS management team leaders reported the progress and presented the status of their respective research project on creating health systems management prototype that is sustainable, effective, and efficient in providing easy access to health services, health promotions, and disease preventions to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
All parties involved in the project have concurred to assess the results of the existing projects using the SDGs concepts; summarize the lessons learned for potential course development; and create a promotional video for PR purposes on the results and benefits of adopting the DHS management models.
The DHS StartUP project Executive Committee headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana provided feedback and suggestions on how to systematically work on an operational plan to replicate the DHS management prototypes to other districts and expand it up to the national level.
